    Shining,

Not sure exactly what wheels but they are round and came with the car ?, seriously they are the standard 18 inch alloys that came with a 2008 D3, not sure exactly what type.

Trivett at Alexandria have or had a Conti cross contact AT displayed in their service area last time they stole my money for a servcie and they look fairly aggressive as noted by discosaffa, might have to invest in a set of mud flaps if they do spit stones as noted.

I went with the Scorpion ATRs. Much improved ride and feel over Cooper HT+ but these were clapped out and badly scrubbed as the wheel alignment had not been looked after by the previous owner. I wanted to go back to OEM sizes (Coopers were 265s) as the spare was still new and a 255. Have only been on dirt and bitumen as yet but so far so good.

    Cheers,
    Steve.

I have 18" GG AT2's on my D3 since new and have done about 9 thousand k, now. About 5000 of that is on highways, most of the rest on suburban bitumen, but it has also done a reasonale bit of dirt road, some extreme offroad in very hilly loose dirt and rock, some deep mud and some sand.

Overall I can't fault the tyres, I have had no punctures, they have performed very well in all situations and I havent been stuck or bogged even once, they handle just fine on wet bitumen, I have never experienced any loss of traction in normal wet bitumen driving. So far they seem to be wearing fine, but probably a bit early to tell.

They are slightly noisy on bitumen, but it is not intrusive and the sound system is awesome, so I just turn it up. I think it is virtualy impossible to get a set of AT's that are worth having in the rough that don't increase your road noise a little bit.

    So far no complaints whatsoever.

Website needs updating, I seem to remember that I found the same thing when I was looking for info.

I am running the standard 18 inch rims and tyres are the standard size, 255/60-18 if memory serves.

They don't so much spit them, as hang onto the darn things...... drive off the dirt onto bitumen and you sound like the Wallabies and Springboks running down the tunnel at Kings Park Stadium in their studs……..

On that subject, and assuming that if the tyres hang on to the stones, at some point they are gonna spit them (never follow me down the highway!) do you get front mud flaps for the D3?

what a great analogy, I have heard that sound up close at Ellis Park, do not recall the result however ?

Conti's are sounding better all the time.

    17" Rims and KM2s

Gday folks - I have 18" rims and would like to buy a set (probably 6) of 17" rims and BFG KM2s for an offroad set... doing a Gibb River Rd trip soon up to Mitchel Plateau etc and just feel better with a bit more air between me and the road

I saw some posts here a fair while ago about what kind of rims etc but can't find them...

Just wondering if anyone has suggestions of a supplier to look after me with these - would get them freighted to Darwin (unless someone knows an ok Darwin supplier).

    I have an 07 D3 TDV6.
