I solved this problem in my D3 by fitting an aux battery and a dedicated permanent power supply for the fridge.

(In the Cayenne it's easier. There is no door open/key chime. plus the four power sockets are permanently live.)

Hah...have to laugh at this. Try driving American cars like Jeeps. They don't have chimes, they have klaxons. Nor is there any grace period of a few seconds, it's just full-on nag-nanny mode the instant you step out of line.

After a night drive in a Wrangler I very nearly got on an aircraft with the intention of flying over and then stabbing the people responsible for the dinga-dong noises. In fact, I hear the CIA once used extended listening to Jeep's chimes as torture but it was deemed a crime against humanity so they switched to waterboarding instead.

So, I can live with my D3's chimes. I've heard worse.

Turn the key to position II and it won't ding.

Or get a second battery / permanent outlet .

I have the dinga when the keys are in the ignition & the door is open in the hiace.Tojo recon it is an ADR or some similar rule & it has to be like that, has only been in the last couple of years.

It is an absolute PITA & i hate it

I can pull a wire off the speaker that dings, but then if i leave the headlights on accidently,it won't ding as it uses the same speaker..
