    Headlamp failure on 2010 RRS

Just got back off the Gibb River Rd and noticed the Xenon low beam headlamp on my RRS has blown. Barbagallo are telling me it's a $400 replacement, and they can fly it up to me in Broome.
Seems a bit of a gouge, but does anybody know if it should be a warranty job?

Land Rover will cover the Xenon globes under warranty.

May be the ballast rather than the bulb.

I asked my dealer about ordering a spare Xenon bulb for my parts stock.

His reply was that if I had a problem with the projectors, it would more likely be the ballast. His view was that the Xenon bulbs seem to last quite awhile , but he could not say the same of the ballast.

And no, I did not purchase a ballast for my parts stock as they really do cost.

Also in the field, the only easy way to figure out if it is the ballast or the bulb is to switch bulbs. There is not a lot of upside to that either if one is returning to civilization within a short period of time. Also I would think that it will be warranty - at least here in Canada bulbs are, and certainly the ballast.

In the bush, sometimes the 7" round tungsten units in the Series Rovers look pretty attractive.
