Anyone on the forum own this RRS?

Looks to be a competitive price and just wondered if it belonged to a forum member?

    Hi Tastrax,
"Competitive", that has got to be the understatement of the year so far, TDV6 with less than 100k on it for $39k. Hasn't got a lot of fruit by the looks of it, maybe I'm missing something. By the prices I was looking at six months ago it is about $10k below what I would have expected Oz wide and possibly $15 to $20k WA prices, petrol it would be close but it seems very cheap for the TDV6.
"unfortunate circumstances", they must be............. only for the seller!

Beware a scam if the price is too good to be true.
The owner probably works on an oil rig

Thanks folks - I will keep that in mind when I contact the owner. Still no response from them by email.... maybe they are still on the oil rig!

Definitely something shonky with the car - 4 "owners" in 12 months and last 4 numbers of VIN don't match up

    Registered operator history
. The vehicle is registered in one name.
. There have been 4 registered operators since the vehicle was first registered in NSW.
    Usage records
This vehicle has been registered with the following usage types in NSW.
    PERIOD OF USE USAGE TYPE
    28-Feb-2012 to 6-Apr-2012 Private
    7-Apr-2012 to 20-Nov-2012 Business
    21-Nov-2012 to present Private

It gets even more interesting - I thought I would get the carsales report for $25.00 to see what it said (attached) and it appears that the registration plates on the car belong to the 1998 Discovery (recently sold on carsales). Now maybe, just maybe, they put the wrong plates on the wrong car? Real plates should be BP33GM which I gather might have been on this car http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...-1998-14054806

    Google is your friend.

    Phone number from ad:
    0418 201 688

Google this & you get his name:
    0418201688 Who Called Me From 0418 201 688?
Initials match the personal number plate.

Search the White Pages & you get his address & home phone number:
    White PagesĀ® - Coulter

The number plate difference could be down to a personal plate being swapped between family cars. The ad mentions they have a few cars.

The car's been a Sydney car all it's life from what I can tell.
It was originally sold in Oct 2006 & the rego expires in April 2013.
The 6mth difference in rego months could be down to a dealer re-registering the car for 6mths - hence the 'business' owning the car for a while between April & November 2012.

You can even Google his address & find out when he moved there & how much he paid:
