New Tyres for RRS 3.0 TDV6 19" Wheels

I need to buy a new set of tyres size 255/50R19. Last set was Roadstone Roadian HP Load/speed rating 107V. They lasted well. I drive mostly on bitumen and about 10% off road (sand, dirt & snow) but is used occasionally to tow horse & float. Any recommendations for new tyres? Thanks, Kim

Ended up with General Grabber AT XL tyres. So far so good.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?

There have been a few comments on the GG AT's. Mine have covered over 87,000kms and they were fitted by dealership from new. Excellent in almost every aspect bar one....... noise! Some of us D4 owners with these tyres have a problem which seems to start before 20,000kms in excessive noise which seems to eminate from front right side of vehicle, but from members' posts it does not seem to affect all of us with these tyres. I hope you land in the ' no noise' category as then you will have a good tyre for both on and off road with potentially great longevity. Enjoy!

    Zilch,
You won't be too worried about noise when you're up in Cape York! U might find them a bit noisy on Tarmac though especially around 90k.. Otherwise a great tyre. Be careful of sidewall though, it's not that tough.

I am running Hankook Dynapro AT-m. I have had them on for 20k and cannot fault them so far. I used them for a 'Gulf' trip last year and put them over some quite rough country that included about 7ks of unsealed roads and tracks. Even though they have a fairly open tread pattern I have found them to be no nosier than the OEM Good Years.

My son in law and daughter accompanied us in their Pajero that had a set of nearly new well known brand of ATs did not fair any where near as well as the Dynapros and looked very second hand by the end of the trip.

gave them a run today after they were fitted, nothing noticeable in terms of noise but i only got up to 80kph, what i have noticed is that the steering wheel
seems to feel less responsive and their is a bit of movement before the wheels feel like they are actually turning, could be all in the mind, a few days to get use to them will tell.

    Cheers

Noise doesn't seem to start until around 17,000-20,000kms. I've just changed mine at 87,500kms. Peace at long last (Pirelli ATR). As I've posted earlier, if yours are relatively quiet you won't be disappointed with them. They are a really good tyre in all respects, mud, snow, gravel as well as on road. Enjoy (as they say).
