    Garry,
My RRS V8 has had the battery replaced, not sure when.
It's currently a nrma/racq/ racv etc branded calcium battery.
    CCA 850 100Ah.
Maybe the petrol engines need less grunt?

Well it looks like I dodged a bullet as the battery came back up and seems OK.

Was on the 3 stage smart charger over night and went into float OK.

Started Ok this morning and drove around OK today with no indications from the radio of low power from the battery.

I find it amazing that there are protocols in place to protect the car's systems and battery which can be annoying but LR do not have anything to save the systems if the ignition is left on.

The voltage did get so low that the time went from the radio and the radio frequency went to the lowest available but the presets remained.

Thanks for all the input - I guess I need to save for a new battery.

    Cheers

Not sure about D3's or earlier RRS but D4's require the battery monitoring module to be reset upon the replacement of a battery. Doubt if most battery suppliers have the LR systems or Autologic to do this so replacement should only be done by an organisation/supplier with this equipment. That's not to say a replacement battery just dropped in won't work, its just that the inbuilt battery monitoring system wont work.

    Cheers

Just had my battery replaced in Cairns. Dealer confirmed OEM battery is now AGM with 850cca. Battery monitoring module also needs resetting. (Had it done by LR dealer in Cairns).

So if you disconnect the battery cables on the D4, like if you had to do a hard reset, you have to take it a dealer to have the battery monitoring module reset??

    Seems odd.

I replaced my D4's battery 9 months ago without any subsequent drama. This is the first I've heard about having to reset the monitor after the battery is replaced and I've had my D4 for nearly 5 years.

Much the same here replaced battery 4-5 months ago. Battery monitor is working the same as before as far as I can tell. Next time I leave the radio on and it tells me to start the car I will check the voltage.
