    My New TDV8 RRS. Travelling Brisbane to Central Coast

    Hi all,

    I have just purchased a TDV8 RRS fro Graysonline at Brisbane. Hoping to fly up tomorrow 23rd December to pick up.

    Will be driving back subject to getting a drivers permit and the car being ok.

    Can anyone suggest a place to get it Blue slipped in NSW. Near the QLD/NSW border.

    What happens if it fails badly...can it not be driven on the permit?

    A sight unseen buy...yes I know!!!

    Can't you get a permit in QLD to drive it to your place of residence?(even if it's interstate)

    When I bought my second hand Defender in Qld I cancelled the Qld rego and got a permit from Qld rego office to drive home to Sydney. The permit was valid for about 4 days but could only be driven to obtain the blue slip. Not sure if that is the same as my experience was 8 years ago.

    That is the plan. However I will not get back till late. Getting a Blue slip on Xmas eve might be harder than getting one the day before on the way home. Plus if I have one I do not have to come straight back....

    Does anyone know if the Nanocom works on the RRS if you have the Discovery 3 unlock and lead?

    Still at work so just popping on when I can.

    Yup.

    "You will need a permit to move an unregistered vehicle if:

    - you are moving it to another state or territory for registration"

    Good for 1 to 7 days. You can apply online.

    Does not let me fill this link in. I do not have a QLD license.

    Cannot find a link for doing this for an interstate license!!!
