RRS TDV8 Roof Rack / Bars etc?

    Hi,

I am doing a family trip in a weeks time. My Brother and his wife are visiting so planning a drive around the area. Central Coast, Canberra, Wodonga, Sunshine coast and home.

Looks like I will need some extra space for luggage and holiday items.

So, thinking of a roof bar and roof box...or roof rack.

Just wonder what would be a good option to use with being able to use for different things. This time holidaying. Next time Kayak...then roof tent

    Would like a quality unit.

    Thanks,

    Chilly

Chilly, I had 3 Rhino rack bars put on my D4 and as soon as I drove out of the workshop I could hear a very loud roaring noise from the front bar and I took it off as soon as I go home. The rear 2 bars don't seem to make much noise so I'll only use the front bar when transporting long items. Fortunately they are very easy to take off, the only things is I don't know if they have a different fitting for a RRS.

Hmm! I use Whispbar through bar. Can't hear them above the snorkel. Very quiet.

    What he said.

I use the 3 bars for the long heavy kayak.

    RRS roof racks & bars

I'm considering buying a RSS L320 MY10 onwards. I'd like to install a roof rack or bars.

    Racks:
    - Is the OEM Land Rover Expedition rack still available? Is it easy to remove when I'm in town and want minimum height? Is there any other rack that's comparable?

    Bars:
    - What are the lowest profile options for this vehicle?

    Cheers,

    Discomarsh.

yes the expedition rack is still available but its expensive - with discount $2,300 from LR. It is not particularly easy to remove, especially on your own. I have Rhino Aero bars with a Rhino mesh platform (no sides) and this is probably the lowest option but happy to be corrected. It is easy to remove even by yourself. I also have a roof pod I can put on without the platform and also an awning and shovel holder - all easy add ons with the Rhino system. I'm sure there are others out there too. Let us know which way you go and post some pics please!

Yeah happy with the Rhino stuff on our RRS. Don't have the platform but there's options. Rails plus bars and platform would have to still come in at least $1800 - of course the same for any vehicle.
