What's the ride like compared to the Coopers (274/45/20?) - an extra 10mm of sidewall on the 265/50/20.
I've trashed the sidewalls on my Coopers...

Ride is good. At moment tyres have 41 psi in them from fitters however I run mine a bit lower 36 mainly so ride should further improve. They are very quiet. I don't think steering is quite as sharp as with Coopers but it is splitting hairs.

Just got a price on the 285/60/18 and $332 ea so with 4th one free can do all 4 for under $1000 !!!!
D697 same size are $400 ea with no 4th tyre free on the duellers.

Compomotive rims arrive mid Jan so looks like the Terra Grapplers G2 are the go.

There's a L319 thread mentioning a D4 with 285/50/20 s fitted... reckon another 10mm in the wheel well would have been too much?

I didn't even want to try. The 265's are well wide enough. They look good on the 🚗

Was up theNorth Shore this week then across to Rainbow beach. Ran tyres at 20 psi they were fine wheel temp didn't move. Pretty easy going so much traffic on beach. But one Prado managed to get stuck at Double Is point crossing. Tyres worked fine hard to say if they were better than Coopers but certainly no worse and extra sidewall was nice

I wouldn't be game to run the Coopers at 20, haven't been lower than 25...

Just got my compomotive 18" rims and Nitto terra grapplers on and they look and feel great, 285 60, a slight rubbing on the front when on full lock but nothing to worry about, of to Lancelin to test them in the sand.
