As for power,its got heaps after coming from a Disco 200tdi..

I now have about 210k kms on my 2005 td6 L322. Done nothing to it other than routine engine oil & filter changes at 22k km intervals. I replaced the pollen filter at 150k km but the old one was spotless. The tyres are usually repalced as often as the engine oil. The front diff drive flange was done under factory recall. I did replace the front suspension struts and rear shocks at 150k km which provided a minor improvement to handling although we then found out that new tyres made a far larger difference.
I have been trying to get around to changing the transmission fluid but not done yet.
I don't think there is anything to be frightened off with high km L322s.
There are plenty of td5 Discos getting around with 500k kms plus.
I'd just factor in about $5k for a transmission o'haul at some stage.
From what I can decipher from others experiences go for August 2005 models and newer. Older L322s may have had suspect fuel pumps and transmission valve bodies.
It moves its arse a lot quicker than my 200tdi

Thankyou all for your replies, but I'm still wondering about what massive problems a TDV6 would have nearing 200k? As for the L322 TD6, what are the maintenance costs like for routine oil changes and such (On a tight budget+youngest member of AULRO+mechanically have no idea) I would only be using this car for touring and majority of its use would be city.

As long as syntheic oil has always been used and the oil changed reguarly, the engine should be good for many more Klm's. The timing belts etc should have been changed around 160k, so that is a big expence out of the way. The big killer of modern common rail diesels is fuel contamination.
Personally I prefer straight 6 diesels, and the Td6 is very robust unit, as far as servicing; they would be around the same, if you get your parts from one of the independant suppliers.
