Here,s some pick of my 2004 4.4, love it.

I gave the RRV a clay bar & wax yesterday. The paintwork is pretty good on these cars. Mine lives outside in the hot Qld sun in the salt air, which destroyed the paint on my 110. The prep & repaint on the 110 has taken me about a year so far. So I'm being more careful this time.

Did you polish between the clay and wax?

No, the objective is to remove paint contaminants and wax for protection.

No worries. I was taught that to get best protection from the wax it was best to polish first. Just goes to show different people have different ways of doing things.

Did the same to mine a few years ago after it ended up covered in over-spray while in the shipyard over at Hemant. Absolutely amazed at the result - should do it again...

Thanks. You may be right, polish may provide even more protection as well as shine.

I'm trying to do this on both our cars twice a year. You can certainly feel the difference after the clay bar treatment. If hydrophobic characteristics are any guide the spray on wax provides better protection than car wash alone. However, 1Z car wash works pretty well.
