    Hi - newbie here!

Hi guys, thought I'd share a couple of photos of my new 2011 RRV TDV8 Luxury (Stornoway Grey) - picked it up in Melbourne and drove her back to Sydney via the Snowy Mountains Highway.

I'm new to LRs (had BMWs, Lexus and other cars before), and it felt a real treat to pilot this thing back along the highway.

Cheers gents . The RRV drove like a champ on the journey back to Sydney, but upon starting to use it for the daily commute it started giving me "Restricted Performance" warnings (first yellow, then red; stranding me in the middle of Cleveland St for a few mins). A new battery seems to have fixed things for now...

Very observant Justin! Here's a pic of the GT-R (V.spec II Nür) and my E21. Have owned the GT-R for about 6 years now.

Anyone else into a bit of JDM?

Haha, that's brilliant. Some very well-rounded experience there! I wanted an RS Turbo back in the day, but you couldn't find one that hadn't been completely thrashed to pieces. I love how you've put "Honda Beat" and "Ferrari F355" in the same sentence

Good to see others here who like all sorts of cars Yes in terms of my "daily drivers", in recent years I went from a Renaultsport Clio 172 to an E38 740iL to a 330Ci to another E38 740iL to a Lexus IS F to a Hilux, and now the RRV. I do like some variety.

What was the story with the R33 and the deposit??

I was in my early 30’s when I put a deposit down on a mint silver R33. I then spent a month trying to insure it and gave up! I was a rating one, all points, never lost my license and the R33 had sat tracking... But nobody would insure me... show us your L322

Yep, I love all kinds of cars. My current daily driver is a Octavia RS Wagon.. I looked seriously at the new jag XE and f-pace... I also nearly bought an Evo II and Evo IV once - again insurance killed off that dream... show us your L322

Learnt to drive in a ZJ 351 Fairlane on dirt roads, that was fun.

Oh - also owned a Austin Healy Bug Eyed Sprite at one stage.

Used to do a bit of track work too...

Sadly have never owned any performance jdm. However had several Lexus , an LS400 and LS430 which were just fantastic cars. A few hondas too which were great cars. Currently also have a v6 accord with the J30 engine another beautifully designed performance engine😎.
In addition to my isuzu 110 and the l322 td6 vogue.

Ah that's a massive shame! Hope you got your deposit back! Insurance is still no cheaper on them nowadays, although it depends a lot on the post code and not just the driving record, so I've been told. It's a real shame you never got to live out your desire for a JDM car - but who knows what'll happen in future

Yeah the Octavia RS is a decent bit of kit isn't it - Golf GTi motor, correct?

A Sprite would be a very cool thing to own - properly old school and would give a lot of smiles per mile I'm sure.

The Lexuses really are very good at what they do, aren't they - They might not have the style of the Euros but they are very refined, and they have a bulletproof feel to them, especially the electrics. The 4.3 V8 is also really smooth. I briefly ran an '06 GS430 and it was a bit of a weapon, and it took you by surprise because it did the "sedate" thing so well.
