    L322 BMW POWERED 3L DIESEL

Anyone got fuel usage figures. When I got this one the computer said average was 11.4l/100k. On a recent trip to Orange I got this down to 11.1l/100k. Running around town it has gone to 11.2l/100k. Interested in others results. Jim

low 9s highway. high 11s to mid 12s round town.

The RR economy readings are not self-resetting so to get a good indication for a trip you have to reset one of the meters before starting.

Our VW resets "economy 1" after the car has been turned off for 2 hours. "Economy 2" is an average for the last 10000ks

Hi Jim, when I had my 03 ( 02 ) L322 I regularly got low 9l/100 out west on open roads, like Pat303 posted, as long as I kept the speed under 120.

On a trip way out west ( can’t remember which state ) I was in open drought country, and all you could see, horizon to horizon were the roadside guide posts so I wound the RR out to 160, put the cruise control on a sat at 160 for just over 20 minutes.

The fuel gauge moved from half full to next to nothing in that 20 minutes and the first town I came to, I filled up and even though it was only a 20 minute dive, my fill averaged 14+L/100.

One thing I also found, as Garrycol asked about, the rr computer always should about a 10% higher fuel use average than was the case.

I also pushed my 07 RR on one trip and in one 120km section I averaged 149.9 KPH, getting up to 180 in a few places and slowing down to overtake.

The computer never showed a consumption higher than 11.6L/100 ( again, I can’t remember which state in was in )

My Td6 has seen 170 and was still pulling when I lifted off and it has no trouble sticking with my mates 4.7V8 petrol cruiser.IMHO it is the best engine that LR have ever fitted. Pat
