LCD -Is it a Road Worthy item ?

    Hi All,

Looks like I will be going a 2nd hand L322 03 V8. Very good nick and the old man drove it and was most impressed ( he drives a RRS TDV8 and thought it compared favourably). Checked the VIN and no outstanding service items. LCD is going though , so when I register it in VIC , will the LCD need to be fixed ?

I sold the D2 to get this , so hope its a good decision ????

Don't think it is a road worthy item. I would ask to have it fixed before buying it though. Going through the same thing with an '02 at the moment. The stereo screen is stuffed, and the odometer screen is on the way out. As part of the deal, they are fixing both before I buy it.

    Cheers - Gav

I have heard it is possible to get them fixed for a reasonable price.

Be a little carefully on what they consider as fixed. Mine was supposed to be 'fixed' as part of the deal, 4 months later it was worse than prior to sale. I’ve since found out that contact cleaner on the ribbon connectors will ‘fix’ the problem for a few months….

Thanks for that. I will be asking how, and who they get to fix these, and follow that up a bit further....

    Cheers.

Thanks , the car is selling so cheaply , as is ( family Freind ) so I will take that on myslef and definitely get it fixed properly. However if it is not a RWC item then , I can wait for more reddys in the Skyrocket before i have to fix it.

As I read his comments - far less reliable than the later models, but much better offroad and more fun generally?

    Cheers
