L322 problems

265/60r18. They were very noisy, very little grip, tram tracked something shocking, numb steering, did I mention no grip…

When I was looking for a L322 I drove many. The vehicle I eventually purchased is in absolutely immaculate condition and ticked all the boxes – except how it drove. The only reason I took it was because I had tested another vehicle with the same tyres and passed on it because of its manners – I really thought something was wrong, when reviewing my notes (which included tyre details) these two vehicles drove noticeably worse than the others, so I took the gamble that it was the tyres that were to blame, everything else was perfect – thankfully I was right.

If the first L322 I drove was one of these two, I probably would have stopped looking and purchased a D3. I was amazed at the difference in driver experience...

I presume they were Cooper ATR's. This was one of the tires I was thinking of fitting. What do you have now. Report please on there progress

I bought L322 TD6 last September. Fantastic vehicle but I am interested in how you get so low a fuel usage. The best I have done is 10l/100k. I usually run around 12l/1ook and I drive with a very light foot. By the way. don't use the figures from computer. If I did I would be using around 8l/100k but work it out mathematically. These computers give misinformation, they read lower than actual usage. Jim

Mine reads perfect on long trips but remember your fuel usage changes all the time with day to day driving.I've crossed the nullaboring four times and it is accurate within a litre but thats sitting on 120k/hr for 10hrs straight. Pat

But consider 500kms too a tank in 4.4, and always above 850kms too a tank in the td6 usually 950 odd, ive had 1100 before.

And that you can chip up the td6.... i would say it would out run the 4.4 then.

Towes great. Had too tow my p38 when it broke down with the td6 and its as if it wasnt even on the trailer behind it :)

500km/tank is a bit low. I'm getting more like 800+

Hi, in my continuing search for the right vehicle, I will be looking at 2 more on the weekend. Both are 04 models with about 135K km on them & both diesel. I have asked the usual questions, and one of them has had the transmission serviced at 120K km. Now, I would think this would be a good thing, if done properly, with the right trannie fluid. What sort of questions should I be asking about this, and what should I be looking for on the invoices? He claims all work has been done by an LR dealer, but I would have thought an LR dealer would have given him the 'sealed for life' line...

Any thoughts?
