Nice buy mate.. I must admit that is my favourite colour combo; it would look great with some red dirt on it! Are you planning to change the wheels, or happy to keep them now they have grown on you?

I'm getting one tomorrow white 2004 with 114000ks great service history comes from Mossman in Sydney. Comes with 3 year warranty . Never been off-road was a shopping trolley . I'm test driving in the morning will make sure everything works . But having the warranty is gold .

Congrats Mike, looks a nice vehicle, low km and my favourite colour. However, I'd suggest a NRMA or auto transmission place do in inspection. The GM tranny is the weak point on the RR td6 and the X5 I've read. I'd also suggest a tranny service asap. With those km it should be fine.

Finally look at the owner contribution & insurer limits on the 3 year warranty. I have seen some shockers, eg $1000 limit on tranny or motor repairs for vehicles over certain age or km. On a +ve note any contribution is helpful if something goes wrong.

I am not trying to be negative but only to inform.

AFAIK almost all L322 BMW diesels GM transmissions fail before 150,000Km.
The repair cost is $7K to 9K.
There are lots of posts here that detail the problems.
So if you got the car for a good price which factored in the cost then enjoy it. If you can extend the warranty do so IMHO.

Yes I upped the warranty to the highest level covers up to $5 k for the tyranny etc. drove it this morning goes very well everything works. Lots of dog hair but hasn't ben detailed yet. No dents or scratches underneath the body so no serious off road. Graeme Cooper had been servicing it but I wil get the tranny oil changed and serviced.

Yes I am aware of the tranny faults that's why I upped the warranty to the highest level. Cost me $900 for 3 years but wil pay $5 k towards the tyranny. At present it's driving very well. Doesn't apear to have had a hard life .
