    2007+ L322 Buyers Guide

    Hi Guys

A relative is interested in a used L322, probably 07+ vintage.
Does anyone have a good buyers guide for these? Things to check, things to avoid, factory options you definitely want etc?
This will be diesel, most likely the 3.6 V8. How are these holding up?

    Cheers
    Dougal

Quite a few that we looked at were really tatty inside, some of the trim like armrests etc does not seem to hold up anything like as well as on the earlier years even at reasonably low KMs.

There weren't many options I don't think, worth sticking to looking for the Luxury spec level on the diesel though as it doesn't seem to make a great difference to the price now. The heated/cooled seats are vaguely nice to have and if you want the factory fitted aux input for music it only came with the rear seat entertainment fitted too for example.

We ended up going with a supercharged petrol though, the economics of the extra cost to buy a TDV8 didn't work with the sort of KMs we do on it.

supercharged petrol is only one to get rear e-diff ("locker") as standard too - very rare on TDV8 - so if you intend using it offroad its something to be aware of

Thanks guys. The most offroad this would get is fishing, I don't see it being overtaxed doing that.

    Buzzing

    Hi Danske
Suggest you check the windscreen mounting seal, I recently had windscreen replaced and immediately had very loud buzzing noise at 100k.
Took it back to O'Briens - problem gone, not sure what they did but probably added some flexible sealant to the mounting seal. May pay to check with your local glass dealer.
    Hope this helps

    Angry hornets at 80+ kph

    Hi Danske,

The early L322's (2002-2004) had a sporadic issue with the seals around the windscreen not setting properly with the sealant. This meant that over time, particularly in our warm environment, they lifted away from the screen allowing the edge at the base of the windscreen to vibrate when subjected to wind flow across the base of the windscreen.

A nice run of Sikaflex across the seal along the base of the windscreen worked a treat on mine. Over three years ago since mine done and not a hornet heard since.

Hope this helps. (sorry to hijack thread folks).

    Cheers,
    Iain
