    EGR blanking kit.

Quick question. Does anyone know if the EGR blanking kit for the Freelander TD4 is the same as the one for the TD6? The pictures look similar.

Been looking on flea bay in the UK for one, but the only TD6 one listed won't ship to Aus. There are plenty of others offering the TD4 unit.

Anyone got one, and where did they get it from? I got into a frenzy today and ordered a new inline fuel pump (it's making strange noises now and won't run below 1/4 of a tank), a new engine breather (the one that never needs replacing) and I was going to finish off with the EGR blanking kit, but I came up blank...

    Cheers - Gav.

Forget Fleabay and just go to one of the LR parts suppliers in the UK. I got a simple steel one.

Allisport have a excellant item, but their website is in rebuild after hacking, but they will answer e-mails etc

    EGR blanking kits

John Craddock also has a Britpart version and exports, while your looking there have a look at the cost of the rear cargo barrier, wrap around bullbar etc and then cry at the prive they want here second hand !

I think I'll drop Allisport a line - it looks like a cut above some of the others.

    Thanks for eveyones input.

Even if there is no noticable difference, I will be happier knowing all that sludge isn't getting into my intake. I pulled the EGR off mine when I first got it, and gave it and what I could reach of the intake a good clean - it wasn't pretty, and the valve itself takes up a ton of room, so I think it would have to do something.

    Let us know Gary.

As others have noticed heaps a crud in intake manifold. Cleaned mine as best I could without removeing Manifold. Slight decrease in fuel consumption. Happy I did mine. Motor seems to run a bit better
