Haven't tried backing up to my trailer yet..got to put tongue on 1st
Might give it a go over the next few days...
cheers
No doubt I'm far from the first owner to be peeved about this - but what were LR thinking when they designed the L322 (and my previous RRS for that matter) with a rear camera that can't see the tow bar???
So I've had to jerry-rig a solution. It's a bit clunky, but it works. You just need a spare iPhone for it.
1) buy a cheap suction bracket for the spare iPhone ($19 from Good Guys)
2) Stick the phone on and suck to the bottom of the tailgate window
3) Point the phone down at the towbar
4) Facetime from one phone to the other.
As per the pics below. Continually backing into the boat trailer was becoming tiresome.
(And yes, I know about VentureCam, even bid for one on eBay before discovering my car wasn't rigged up for it at the factory, and apparently it can't be retro-fitted.)

Sorting the problem of your reversing camera not seeing the tow hitch while backing up to your boat, by suctioning an extra iphone onto the rear window...
This has got to be the most FFRR-esque post I've ever seen![]()
exactly, what a first world problem. For what it's worth, I don’t think the upper class (for whom the Range Rover was designed for) usually tow their boat – because it’s too big!
If your 170k Range Rover can't see the tow bar I really don't think anyone is going to give sympathy, and riggin up 2 iPhones - hahaha. Lucky I don’t have that problem with my crappy old Rangie.
Only reason I opened the thread was I thought there was something of substance – like the stupid split tailgate.
