Before purchasing I did some research and spoke to the land rover dealer service guys whom I know. They said owners of TDV8s don't sell them as very little goes wrong. And one Owner at that time had racked up over 400,000 and going strong.
I had to replace intercooler hoses and at 220,000 ks the gearbox oil was replaced for the first time as i started to notice juttering up hill at 1800 rpm. Problem fixed though I believe they now recommend to change the oil every 50,000 ks.
I don't know the service history, but oil comes out smooth. I understand the engine oil recommended was specifically designed for the motor and I wouldn't use anything else, cannot be found on the shelf and had to order it through supercheap at $300 for 20 litres.
Great car wouldn't drive anything else.
