    immobiliser woes

Well, after putting new air struts in,then the battery dies!Don't know how old it was,we've had it for about 4 years and was in it then.Anyway,a while back tried a computer reset following instructions on a thread here, didn't work,if i locked it had to dissconect battery earth to start it.Came good but after changing battery, doing it again.Tried a few fixes on various forums,no go.Remote battery is only about 6 months old.So down to my mechanic an hour away tomorrow to get a re set.Hope that fixes it.Does anyone know how to get the top shroud off the steering column? One more trick i'd like to try.

Had it checked out, worst fears came true.Need new steering column!Picked one up off flea bay for a not too ridiculous price. That will also fix the steering wheel retracting problem that happened three days ago.Wheel started to come out, then a clunk, there it stayed. It's starting to try my patience

The steering wheel issue is fairly common. When it happens on mine, I'll just lock it in the required position and leave it at that. There is a thread on FFRR on how to do that.

Hang in there, they're worth the occasional hassle. You'll soon have a smile back on your face once you're driving it again.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
