Am I reading this right guys, you can get these tyres in essentaily same size as the 285/50/20 Cooper LTZ's (31.2205 inch) I have on my car (but these ATTURO's are LT strength)?

However I just had a thought...The limit for size increase is 2" above standard yeah? This vehicle, as per my tyre placard, came out with 255/55R20 (31" height) would that be considered within legal parameters?
Yes, you should be right with that then - thanks. Mine shows 255/50/20 so wouldn't be legal on the earlier models then.

    Cheers.

Are you sure? To my knowledge all L322 sizes are 30".

    Hmmmmm. decisions decisions!!!!!!!

I've got this big trip coming up as a few of you know, and I'd be much happier with LT strength tyres on the back when we tow a heavy caravan across the Plenty Highway.....but the noise factor of MT's for the other 4000kms on bitumen worries me. Damn. What to do......thoughts????

Would these really be worth buying compared to near new LTZ's? I'd keep those ofcourse for when we get back - as everyday tyre. I'm trying to work out whether the slight increase in Load Rating and the LT carcass strength mean I should take the plunge.

Yeah, I so get your confusion. I'm back at home now and looking to get the tyres that I tried to buy in Perth and these seem too good to be true. I know I just can't live with the noise though.

I just sold a Nissan Navarra ute that was used by my company and it had Mickey T ATZ p3's and they were horrific. They were so bad that it felt like the car was literally coming apart and the noise!!! I swapped them for a set of Kumho ST tyres and the car was brand new again.

I couldn't do this to my Range Rover or myself.

I'm going to go with the LTZ, the new Falken Wild Peak or the Nitto Terra Grappler. I just can't go with the M/T pattern unless it was a Kumho KL71 which I have run on a few Utes and they are significantly more quiet but they are very soft. They also don't come in the right 285/50R20 size!
Chris, I dont think you'll be happy with the M/T on your trip

They would be the LT with the shortest sidewall of any tyre in any rims size that I've encountered by quite a margin. So just how LT are they yet able to keep the heat from the tread area away from the flexing lower sidewall to survive normal sealed road travel speed?
