TDV8 Engine oil, what's being used?

    Hi Guys,

Wondering what engine oil Others are using and recommend, the only oil I know siutable is the castrol magnatec Proffessional A5 5w-30, and only available through the dealer. I once managed to order it through supercheap but recently told by a castrol rep that they would get into trouble for selling it as it is licensed and only available through dealers.

    Cheers

I use a Caltex 5w-40 full synthetic, C3 rated (not that it needs to be). I change it every 10 000km (which is probably overservicing, but oil and filters are cheap).

Make sure you drop both the drain plugs out. I replace mine every second oil change.
