    TdV8 EGR & Turbo Problems

I'm considering a early Tdv8 Vogue due to not finding a Td6 Vogue at the right price , (gearbox replacement cost included) !!!
I know of the ZF troubles in some vehicles, but not greatly concerned espically as there are many Ford performance options and repairs available locally, that can be adapted for the RR!
One thing however that constantly crops up on the UK Forums is EGR failure leading to the very expensive destruction of turbos and sometimes engines on reasonably mileaged cars.
Yet I don't remember hearing of this problem in Australia, (yes the turbo drain pipe and second sump plug have been mentioned)
Would I be right that these problems could stem from the DPF fitted to UK vehicles ? I can't think of any other difference in the fuel/exhaust specs !

    Any thoughts ?

I just asked ZF what is the average life 6HP26 in Australia, most of which are in Falcon's. He said about 180,000km, which could be due to the lead free stator bush issue. I think he said they're built to last about 360,000km.

The cause of the occasional turbo failure on UK vehicles is not real clear. The most recent report of one on FullfatRR was at 91,000 miles.

Still no luck with a replacement, nearly 15 months now. The 06 Td6 Vogue I had lined up fell through I've had my heart set on a Td6 Vogue, I believe inline 6 cyl is the way to go with diesels, pretty much the standard in trucks these days. The Td6 Vogue had all the goodies I need
There have been a few good examples for sale, BUT gearbox issues accounted for there are some good TdV8's at similar prices. Personally I have more confidence in working with a 6HP26 or variants with Ford using these boxes, that's why I wish we could have found a way to fit them to the Td6.
I'm still looking the old D2 Td5 we kept still keeps going, so at this stage I can wait and see and still get to work
