    L322 trailer with LED lights

I have a trailer fitted with LED lights.
Due to the test mode in the car sending a small voltage to check lights they all flash continually even when lights are not turned on.
I obviously need to fit some resistors.
Has anyone done this and if so what strength resistors are needed?

This is asked at least twice a year.

Resistors alone will not fix you issue. All resistors will do is put more load on the circuit resulting in a positive cold test - assuming you are getting a negative cold test now? - this is not always the case. If your indicators are functioning normally and there is no "Check Trailer Light" message then the cold test is ok and resistors alone will do nothing for you. If you are getting the message then resistors will only stop the message.

Resistors alone will not stop the continual flashing caused by the 2v pulse, the LEDs will still flash on 2v beside a resistor - you need to shunt the pulse back without it getting to the LEDs.

Relay to cut power to the LED
Resistor is then need to satisfy the cold test once the LED is behind the relay.

Many of us have built our own box, (or there is a couple of commercially available units) I have posted schematics for a build before that should come up in a search.

    Many thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I do not seem to be able to grasp just how to 'drill down" on articles such as your schematics. If you have knowledge of a commercially available unit and would share this with me I would be most appreciative.
If not then I will just keep searching the web.
