Thread: a quick bit of towing info pls ☺

I just came back from a week away at Lightning Ridge and Dirranbandi towing 1.5 - 2.0 t camper fully loaded. It was mostly sealed but included about 100km of gravel at highway speed. The trailer was hardly noticeable with the tdv8. The L322 was faultless, and ticked over 250,000km mark while away.

Just a word of warning, not many people "bullet proof" a 5l40E, they make them stronger, but they are still not "strong" boxes and reportedly still fail. worth while doing a lot of research, especially on the driving tactics to increase box life

The td6 l322 i now have will get a new trans cooler and full trans service and should be right for towing duties☺. Anybody have some average fuel figures for towing full size van? About 2.9t.

Can't wait to get it on the road for its maiden voyage ☺
