    Firewall bung

I thought I'd drill a hole in a plastic bung in the firewall for the UHF antenna cable. However it is simply pushed in from the outside so out it popped, falling somewhere out of reach below the brake booster. Eventually recovered using wire it was then fitted with the cable and a draw wire from the inside to pull it c/w antenna wire back into place. It could have easily been refitted from the inside but water pressure from a deep river crossing might dislodge it.

I managed to squeeze mine thru the original cable gromet on the LH side, at these areas water ingress should be minimal when traveling forwards...just dont stop :P and if you are in that deep you probably have bigger issues than water in the foot well

I didn't look at the left side but didn't think I could get another wire through with the thick bundle of wires on the right side.

I've found removing the battery gives plenty of access to the loom and grommets on the passenger side. If you've never never done the battery, the struts need popping off and the bonnet will lift vertical and there are stops that latch on each side of the bonnet hinge to hold it while you work in that position.

How is the battery lifted out? Mine's too big to fit though the gap.

Bonnet needs to be straight up - it won't come out unless the struts are popped off and the bonnet raised well past where it normally stops. Once the bonnet is straight up, the battery will lift straight out.

Once it's out, there is plenty of room to play.

Thanks but not so simple on mine which has a 2nd panel effectively extending the panel across the bottom of the screen where the wipers protrude making the gap too small. I'll have a closer look in daylight as it appeared that the wipers are fitted through the 2nd panel but perhaps the panel avoids the wipers.
