    Blown Front Suspension Airbag.

    Hi All,

This happened to me this morning:

Very fortunately, I was at the LR Indie at the time. He had just pressed the off road height and puff it went. A temp replacement put in from an old car and off I go.

Also fortunately, I'm coming to Australia at the end of this week so would like to pick one up or two if my baggage allowance allows. I estimate 10kg a unit.

The unit that came off is a Delphi 2223812 & marked RNB501260 it looks like the original given the date label on it, my car being a 2007 TDV8 L322.

I'll be in Brisbane and Melbourne and would very much appreciate advice on where is the best place to get it/them?

    Thanks,

    Jerry

Duckworth Parts in Uk - buy on line - ship to Brisbane; you can ship to me if you like - just PM me. It will save you a packet as I just discovered with my two rear shockies delivered to my door within 5 days ex UK at $999 for two v $2500 from Brisbane dealer.

That's kind of good luck. That failure is on the cards for both of us.

I was looking around a couple of months ago as was thinking of a preemptive replacement. I found either Duckworths (Dan) or Island 4x4 was the best priced. Delphi seems to be the most recommended for a replacement.

I found a place in Brisbane that sells a refurbed unit which reuses the shock. I would go Delphi especially with your location.

Also I spoke to Bilstein Australia about their EAS. They no longer supply here as too many failures on Australian road conditions.

Here are part numbers I found.

I see yours failed at the very bottom of the bag. I concluded that mine still look at for now. But looking again I might be facing a split bag soon too.

Yep, I got 2 new Delphi units delivered to my door for under a grand a few years ago from the UK - the exchange rate isn't quite as good now, but it was all under half the price I could get them for locally.

I try to buy most of may parts locally, but the difference with these was too much to ignore.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Jerry, in the AULRO Markets, Peter G has two brand new units for sale. He's in Geelong so getting them to Melbourne should be easy.

But will they fit your model? Dunno.

This is their website. The do an exchange unit. From memory they did a US spec EAS, which they thought fitted ok. I was put off with reusing the strut.
