    Part service experience

Cars due for a service.... Only done 8K kms since purchase in Jan and most of that was a quick outback trip at Easter to the Flinders Ranges and Oodnadatta Track.

Did Oil and Oil Filter change as well as the Air filter on Saturday. Things that were surprising to me ..
Sump plug I undid with a 6mm Allen Key and it looks like it belongs in a Mecano kit.
You need a 36mm socket to undo the Oil filter housing top although it's not really done up tight.
Oil filter is rubber mounted to the car and the little mounting "bobbins" break easy.
Air filters are expensive $80 but they definately work. Thought I'd blow the old one out with an airline. A lot of dust, I'm assuming most of it from my trip. Decided to replace.
Pollen filter was very clean didn't bother to replace.

Will tackle more stuff this weekend. Is there a LR doc that indicates what they are supposed to do for each service. I remember I had one for the Disco.

    Darren.

    Hi

Great picture...just where the car should be!

Air filter sounds likes its made of gold leaf, I guess it depends if you have time to order from the UK etc where there is a large choice and price range.

The sump plug is replaced in the service kit with washer, I'm talking TDV8 though but my experience over several models is a new plug is provided.

Lets see more pics of your trip!

    Cheers, Jerry
