    Battery replacement 2012 TDV8 4.4 - tricky?

Chaps - and particularly Graeme:-) - I need to replace my 4 year old battery. It's the original Varta. Is there any tricky resetting of ECUs required after fitting a new one?
I was thinking of going to an independent for a new Delcore 95AH 900CCA jobbie, quoted $360 plus about $25 for fitting, but a bit worried they won't be able to reset anything once the new battery is in.
Am I better off just shelling out the $560 the dealer wants (for an 850CCA battery) and get them to fit it and re-set everything?

I intend fitting a Varta G14 (AGM) to mine when the original dies. I see they can be bought for $469 from ebay atm but someone on the forum sells them and might have a better price.

I didn't reset anything when I fitted a G14 to my D4 but being a RR and MY12 it may be different. However fitting a 100Ah aux AGM battery to the L322 didn't cause any grief so I suspect a new battery will be accommodated without fuss. An IIDTool probably has a battery monitor reset function if you're concerned.

Accessing the battery requires the bracket etc above it to be removed and the battery will be heavy, but with the bonnet stood upright (out of the wind) I hope that it wont be too difficult.

In the CCF there are multiple battery options and you are meant to pick the size and type from the options available. I have also found that any time you make a change to the D4's CCF it resets the battery monitor.

    Guys,
Last Varta G14 I supplied was $418 inc gst, delivered.
That was just before Christmas, and I do not think there will be any new pricing when warehouse opens after new year.

Hi Greg, I have replaced my battery and disconnected it when I have fitted my DB system and never had an issue with resetting anything............didn't actually give it a thought prior either.......Lucky huh?

Yeah you might have been a bit lucky Grant - my car's going into Barbagallo on Tuesday for a couple of small warranty fixes, so I may as well get them to fit the new battery then. If there's any resetting to be done, they can do it.

Here is a screenshot of my IID Tool where you are meant to do the battery type change when replacing

You can't get the battery done under warranty too?

I wish:-) Nah, I just bought one and they can fit it. No doubt they'll charge me to do so though.
