Its the original unit from 2002 by the look of it.
To be honest I dont really know whats wrong with it........but it don't sound good.

a bearing is probably repairable, I replaced a bearing on a disco 1 and it was a resonsbly easy DYI job, not sure on these L322 denso units, but if it can be removed it will be a common bearing avail at a bearing shop I'd imagine
