    First towing trip!

My goodness. What an engine and drivetrain...😍
Our 21'6" full height dirt road van, loaded up for 3 days away weighs in at about 2.9t. We travelled 400km one way to get to the inlaws place at Ringarooma, far north of the state, very hilly country and beautiful scenery.
At a few points on the Midlands highway I had to back off from 120, and this thing on the flat road with 20kmh intermittently crosswinds will happily hold 8th gear at 110. Overall fuel usage when we arrived was 15.6l/100, which when corrected is more like 17.1l/100.
The only worry I had was the last few km when the trans was obviously quite hot after a few very windy steep hills, there appeared to be a slight buzzing noise in 1st gear when taking off and downshifting. Sounded like cavitation to me, and as the trans service is due NOW, 110,000km, I'm hoping it was only that. After an hour or two I took it for a drive without the van on and it behaves perfectly, so hopefully it isn't serious...
Overall, I am super impressed with this car!!

Hmm, nice. I “almost” feel the same when towing ours, I so wanted the V8.

Excuse my ignorance but is the 8 speed the same as what’s in the D4?
If so then a question Justin, does your vehicle have the steel cover/filter option as the D4 does, and has it been done. They do the D4 at about 80k (?).

Marcus, where the V6 still has astonishing performance for a 3litre, nothing compares to that beautiful sound and 700Nm... and yes it is essentially the same transmission...

surely a 3.9 RRC must come close Justin .

Marcus, the plastic pan apparently can be replaced on the D4 as the pickup tube is short enough to clear the trans valve body etc if the box is jacked up like doing the 6 speed..
