Is it the sort of thing that could be replaced by a Ping Pong ball for instance, as adhesives are just so good today something better must be able to be used.

I know what you mean about getting waterlogged, as I tried to do a similar thing with foam plastic in a water level tube for a rainwater storage tank & even a painted wooden fishing float eventually failed but a sealed ball might just do the trick..
I’m not sure if you can get your hands inside to work on it or if you can get the sensor out.
Hence why you have to replace the whole tank.
I was happy to replace mine as I’m sure the plastic had become a lot harder and was probably becoming more brittle.
All I remember was buying it and not feeling the Range Rover shock you get on the price sometimes.
I actually felt like I had a win.

Pretty much confirmed to be the sensor, with the entire bottle which includes the sensor replaced yesterday. As mentioned earlier, a relatively cheap part by LR standards!

My Indie does the coolant flush on D4's at whatever k's or 5 yrs.

The tank is replaced every time,as they often fault for some reason shortly after a flush,or it could be the age and K's of the vehicle, and thats as long as they last.

Easier and cheaper to replace at the same time instead of having to bring the vehicle back again.

    Glad it’s sorted mate,

I've misplaced the invoice; but I think I recall it was less that $100.
