    L322 Wireless Rain Sensor

And no - I'm not talking about bluetooth :-)

Since I've picked up my girl I've had to do various restore-to-original modifications as in her previous ownership she's had some real cowboys :-o

However now she's pretty good but one of the things that's been bugging me is her 'automatic' wipers are actually 'intermittent' wipers, so I finally got around to pulling apart the box behind the rearview mirror and having a look.

Now please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the sensor and the plug should actually be connected :-o

.. and it looks like there's no connectors on the sensors for the plug to plug in to anyway (broken off, perhaps?)

Is it possible just to get the sensor that glues on to the windscreen? Not that this is an original windscreen, of course :-o

I'm not sure what res this will show up as, so the full pictures are available at L322 Rain Sensor - Google Photos

    Your sensor doesn’t look complete.

See my posts starting at page 4 of this thread:

What year model is yours? On my 2003 model, there is a cable that plugs into the sensor.

My rain sensor didn’t work after my screen was replaced and diagnostics indicated it was faulty so I ordered a secondhand one from the UK.

While I was waiting for it to arrive, I noticed in the Faultmate software that there was a rain sensor recalibrate feature. I did that and it came good.

Now I have a spare sensor in the garage. I can lend it to you if you want to help diagnose the system.

Thanks Ron - she's a 2010 but I don't think that component has changed much.

Just confirms yet something else that's been cowboy'd *sigh*

I'll dig through your post for more details. Thanks again

Note that if the fuse is removed then the wipers become intermittent.

I think yours may have a Ford rain sensor, not the BMW one like mine.

Thanks Graeme, hadn't found that useful snippet of information previously.

Thanks Ron, now the joy of sourcing the right part. Your help, as always, has been invaluable
