I have a 2004 Range Rover with standard radio(no navigation) and am wanting to install an Eclipse Avn726Ea media centre in but have come up against a brickwall,Installers i have contacted seem worried about the electronics of the system.Does anyone know of anyone who has done this upgrade?
Regards John
I’ve installed one of these in the Mrs’ VW Golf, it’s brilliant. I looked recently at installing one in a 2003/4 L322 (thinking of upgrading) but there are a few issues. Mainly: the standard stereo unit does more than just In Car Entertainment; it interfaces with other onboard systems, so those functions have to be managed.
The Stereo displays trip, fuel ect data - what else does it do? I didn't put that much time into it but it is not going to be easy.
Have now had Eclipse Avn726EA media centre installed.Looks great, works great.Lost cd stacker.Am still able to use all controls .Install done by Northfield Redcliffe if any one is interested.

Interesting to hear about your upgrade. How about the trip computer, clock functions, etc that the original head unit controlled?
Could you post a picture of your upgraded dash?
I tried an Intravee to get iPod connection, replacing the CD stacker - didn't work with the MID head unit and was an enormously frustrating waste of time trying to get it to work.
Lost trip computer controls but they are on new gps.Everything is still seen by stalk control. When they removed old radio they left wiring from computer behind panel in footwell in case i need to reset anything.Photo is from different car but identical.Feel free to ring if you need to know any thing more .(0418849018)Ipod cable is supplied with eclipse GPS .Got ipod for Xmas ,works great.
