Height sensors since about MY07 appear to be very reliable and as the air suspension system works albeit without refinements with only 3 sensors, I don't feel the need to carry spares.
Thanks Graeme. I agree. I bought some wheel sensors for my D4 and borrowed some height sensors off Gordon for my first couple of trips in the 2010 D4 but have never used them in over 250,000km of hard and often remote work in the D4. I have just used the two spare wheel sensors on my son's D3 after his dog chewed and ripped two of them out. The sensors are the same but the length of the wiring and the built in clips are different so we had to use more cable ties. They work fine, however. His D3 is a 2006 V8 with over 275000km and it has also never needed any of the sensors replaced due to normal wear and tear or off road driving.
