$2800 for front and rear pads - sounds about par for the course to me. LR tax !

						Yep,
It's going towards the replacement primary turbo that failed later that day.

For my D4 it Cost around $770 to purchase genuine front and rear genuine pads, non genuine front and rear rotors, plus non genuine front and rear sensors from my local indy. Simple job to install them as long as you have a torque wrench
I do remember however when the car was being serviced by landrover it was pretty expensive to get the work done an I would assume that D5 rotors may be more expensive if they have increased the diameter.

Not sure how different the D5 is to my D4 but had my front and rear pads done by LR a couple of months ago, $375/$450 including the wear sensor.
JAX Tyres also did mine a couple of years ago and was about the same as LR price using genuine parts.
$2800 for just pads is seriously ott.

My 2018 D5 just in for a service at 26000km and they also said I need new brake pads and discs, front and rear. Same price of $2800. Told him I am getting another quote and he offered me a 10% discount on the spot. When I said how come I need them replaced when the warning light hasn’t even come on yet, his reply was ‘it would have by the time I got home if I never replaced them’...... 🧐
Bloody ridiculous,26000Km.No wonder LR vehicles get a bad name, maintenance is very expensive.
Our spare work van has 288 000K on it,never touched the brakes
Oh,the D4, done at 80K,which i suppose is just acceptable, can't remember how much it was,but it was no where near $2800,done by an Indie.

Must have been because I had ‘5 years free servicing’ thrown in when I bought it....
Plan going forward is for them to just do the basic servicing and anything extra, I’ll get a second opinion for a good independent mechanic.
