Intake manifold replaced and back on the road today. Fingers crossed that's it. I'm unclear as to whether it was the manifold that was faulty or its connections to the engine. I did ask to see the old manifold but for whatever reason that didn't happen. Now I hope for some trouble free motoring to come to restore my faith in the car and brand.

    Restricted performance

Hi Guys, just joined, my first post.
I have a2017 td6 SE. The vehicle has been terrific except when towing my 3 tonne caravan. The restricted performance will only usually occur on the 2nd day when on cruise control and when trying to overtake another vehicle at 100kmh, just when l get passed that vehicle l loose power and have to pull over. I have found that switching the engine off and waiting 5 - 6 mins the engine has reset.
I have had the vehicle back 3 times and as previous posts the dealer states they had found the problem ( vacuum seal on hose ??). Today after 11months Of COVID and 2nd day on road the same occurred again. The other issue is the engine symbol came on (yellow) an hour or so before. I guess l’ll be going back when we return to Melbourne at Xmas. Luckily l have a 5 year warranty. The dealer actually contacted someone in the UK to see if they had come across this, no result found. Hope this may help some others that have a similar problem. Cheers Peter

I've not heard of this with a D5, but there were reports with the D4 years ago with people towing and getting restricted performance issues while on cruise control.

When towing, does the car recognise the van is attached (green trailer symbol flashing on the dash with indicators)? You mention the engine warning light comes on about an hour before this happens, do you know what fault codes are logged when this happens?

Pretty sure caused by high EGT's.

There are a few D5s on Gumtree at the moment which seems strange for 2 year old cars. No leases would be up.

There are two on Gumtree. One dealer and one private. Can't imagine why someone would buy a $100k car through Gumtree.

people change or lose jobs, lots of leases would be aligned with employment. Who knows but it’s good for me, someone else can take the first year 30% hit and I’ll take it from there
