    Non start.

After a two hour drive yesterday came out this morning to a dead car.
It unlocked after ten mins of fob button pressing, but 4.6V may be just enough to unlock a door, but not enough to run the door mirror leds or dash panel...
    Thankyou RACQ.
And in true LR fashion the battery tests fine.
So now I have to buy a jump pack...
but not from this town.. at least not until Friday, but then we should be at Lancelin, and theres not much at Lancelin..
Might have to backtrack to Green Head tomorrow..

Bummer....hope you get it sorted quickly. I have heard of cases where the earth cable from the battery is not as well attached as it could be... but I suppose you are checking all those things already.

With regards to one of those jump starters, I bought one some years ago off ebay to give me a 12v supply for my telescope. Had to actually try it out on the old volvo a few weeks ago as somebody (not me) left the door open all night. the jump starter was showing only about 38% charge, but it worked a treat. When I bought it I made sure I got one that was supposedly suitable for diesel engines up to 6l in size just in case I needed it for the RRS. I still find it hard to believe that something that small can provide enough juice to start the car.

Well it started this morning with 12.4v, wasnt fully charged from yesterday though...
gap tool showing 14.7/8/9V charging. On the road its rock steady at 14.6v and afaik, its not pushing any power to the van other than brakes and lights...

Has a Oh oh light on the dash though..

It has lots of faults listed on the GAP tool and I think? I've emailed them to Diane's phone...

So the battery was replaced with a Delkor, then driven 90 odd kays home.
Batt voltage checked this morning and 12.3 and 11.8.
Then driven to Lancelin and back ( 60 odd kays) with voltage always over 14.6

Hi Pedro and after such long drives, those voltages just don’t make sense.

Again, after your next long drive, can you disconnect your battery negative ( - ) cables and see what is going on in the morning.

This is just a guess but your alternator may be draining your battery while the motor is off.

NOTE this is just a guess and maybe something else is draining your batteries but those voltages are just too low.
