    Apple Play SDV8 2016

    Hi all
    Does the MY16 model have capacity for Apple Play please? The MY17 has a plug for the centre console but Im not sure if MY16 does please?

    Failing that, is there an aftermarket module or easy fix please?
    2011 SDV6 3.0L + Torus Kakadu, Winchbar, UHF, roof racks, 1 wife, 4 dogs, not enough fishing rods, and Wallabies supporter.

    My 2016 HSE SDV6 does not have Apple play.
    The head unit will allow control of an ipod & I presume an iPhone but no Apple apps etc

    Factory Apple CarPlay and Android Auto was only available from 2017MY with the widescreen InControl Touch Pro, and even then it often needs some modification to make it work.

    The 2016MY is the old system, only option for CarPlay is an aftermarket solution, but out can be done, retaining the factory screen and head unit.

    Which aftermarket solution did you use please and was it relatively easy?

    And does the Head Unit of the RRS V8 have the capacity for other reversing camera's ie a caravan input?

    I installed this unit a few months ago Carabc Wireless Carplay Android Auto Fits For Land Rover Jaguar Bosch Discovery4 Evoque Freelander2 Xe Xf Xjl Mirroring Decorder - Car Ai Box - AliExpress
    I haven't tried Carplay, but Android Auto works flawlessly. Easy install , I followed a writeup from another forum.
    You do loose the factory nav, but I prefer to use google maps anyway. The unit does seem to have additional camera inputs.
    You can use it wired or wirelessly to your phone, with a bonus in sound quality from wired.
