Thread: Is the SDV6 engine the same as the D5 SD6

Gday All,

Was looking for a SDV8 but drove an SDV6 and was impressed with how well it went.. was a 2016 model

Can someone tell me is this SDV6 carried over from the D4 or I see the D5 has an SD6.. google just tells me who makes the engine

I guess my real question is .. is this the same loin V6 that has given many a D3 and D4 owner nightmares due to the crank failure.. I cant seem to find any threads in the D5 or this section of the forum about them failing so just wondered if its a different engine..
