The 4.4TDV8 in the L322 is slightly different but its bleed line flows continuously, which is should do as it's fed from the top radiator hose.
Can anyone with an SDV8 do a quick visual check please?
There is a bleed line that runs into the expansion bottle--
(under the cover panel)
Does yours flow in a constant stream?
or splutter? (bubbles mixed with coolant)
be careful dealing with that black plastic line...
you can snap it like a pretzel ( at least mine did)

Yes, same here. at the other end it connects to a return coolant hose into the top of the rad on the other side. Its a pretty high point in the system. the only higher point is the connection at the vertical line from the thermostat in the centre of the motor.. maybe 2cm higher..
at idle it splutters constantly. see mp4 link...
