    Question Wheel Nuts & Stud

    Howdy All,

I'm planning to replace all my factory wheel nuts with "proper" ones that don't have a cover. I'm after silver/chrome and, whilst there are plenty of options on eBay, they're all buy individually, which gets expensive quick. Anyone found a good deal on a set of 20?

More difficult to find is a replacement wheel stud. I managed to snap one . LR can only sell me a complete hub, which seems somewhat excessive. Anyone know of a supplier?

(Sorry if this has been done before. I did search, but didn't find much).

    Thanks in advance,

    Tallyhochap

nice products should have a wheel stud, if its a rear one I believe you need to pull the hub off to fit ot due to the lack of clearance to get it out.

I looked for a set of 20 for a while to replace the black ones on my L405 from the original 22" black turbines, but didn't find a set. I need to get hold of 5 black nuts to replace the locking nuts but baulked at the cost of genuine LR black nuts.
    .
I've never had an issue with the standard LR nuts with covers since my early D2 days, having always used a 6-point rather than a 12-point tool.

    Stud Sorted

    Thanks guys.

As recommended, Nice Products have the wheel stud for $6-50 + P&P.

I'm expecting to have to remove the front hub as there's minimal clearance.

As for the wheel nuts, they're the same as what were on my XF Jaguar. To be honest, they're the worst wheel nuts I've dealt with in 40 years of mucking about with cars. And ham-fisted tyre shops won't have helped.

    Anyway, the search continues .....

    Thanks again for your help.

15 regular chrome nuts to suit RR 2012 on. (L405)
14 Black nuts suit pre 2012, includes 4 locknots and key. (L322 and earlier)
20 black nuts to suit LR steel wheels some earlier discos and Defender.

Might be worth checking with these guys if these fit...

I have no knowledge of L494 specifics and only assuming they are still 14mm

    I Found my Nuts

    Thanks guys.

I ended up getting a set of chrome wheel nuts from where nearly everything is made - China.

Hopefully they’re up to the job.

    Cheers,
