Range Rover Sport - luggage net, heated seats & reverse camera help

About to purchase a new Range Rover sport in Sydney. Does anyone know if you can have a retractable luggage net installed as an option in the UK, Europe or other O/S markets as an accessory/option? The Range Rover Vogue has a luggage net to divide the passenger cabin from the luggage compartment.

Can anyone shed light on why in Australia, the heated seats are not available. Dealer in Sydney would not allow even a special factory order for this. All competitor vehicles (X-5, ML's, Q7s, Cayenne) allow for heated seats, as does the Vogue. I don't get it. Most Euro passenger cars in Oz all have it either standard or optional, so its definitely not a climatic reason!!!

Does anyone also know whether there are plans to have reverse cameras fitted to the Range Rover Sport, like the Vogue does now? Again, competitor vehicles are all bringing them out with the parking radars. Great idea and very practical driver-aid.

Any news or information on the above would be greatly appreciated.

land rover has designed the car with men, not a bunch of whiny little girls, in the picture as the preferred driver of the car and have deemed that australia DOESN'T GET COLD ENOUGH to require heated seats.
they also assume that if you are going to buy and drive a high performance vehicle, such as the range rover sport, that you would hopefully have the neccesary skills to handle the vehicle in both forward gears and reverse. to do this you would need to actually look out of the windows and be aware of your surrounds and what's happening around you whilst the vehicle is in motion.

Sure I can see the practical side of having the cameras and various other aids but what happened to looking over your shoulder and checking your mirrors. And the best part is that last time I check both side mirrors were standard, for no extra cost.

    Hope this has been helpful

And if you ever see someone in the carpark drooling over your new Rangie, Say "Hello before you call security, He's likely to be an AULRO member.

    Congrats on your New wheels

thanks yabbie. I have grasped the concept of not using the heated seats in summer. are all landrover owners this sarcastic?

reverse camera - each to their own. a great safety advice with small kids, especially after what happened with Phil Kearns accident in the home driveway.

I'm beginning to think the only sensible query I asked was about the luggage net, for which yourself and barney were not critical of.

    thanks for your reply however.

The competitors may have heated seats, reverse cameras and cup holders as far as the eye can see but

Do that in the beamer, Porsche or Volvo

Most Rangie owners develop their level of Sarcasm over a period of time, it's in the owners manual trust me.

    Others develop theirs on Aulro

Me I have the best of both worlds.

If you can't get the cameras fitted I'm available to reverse it for you.

You are gettintg the Supercharged version I hope. (Will make reversing so much faster)

I have 3 little kids, the car only gets reversed when the kids are in it or in the house.
A lot of members have installed them on their own vehicles due to restricted viewing from installation of cargobarrier and drawer systems.
Yes they are good, but not as good knowing your vehicles dimensions, using mirrors and turning around in your seat to view out of the rear of your vehicle.

If they are so good they would be made a compulsary safety device.

As for the luggage net, is it a certified safety device like a cargo barrier?

Would it stop the roof from crushing your family like a cargo barrier has been known to do?

It's a bit stupid not allowing heated seats. Aren't Australians allowed to go to the snowfields?

The P38A RR (like mine) could have heated seats and windscreen in other countries but I've never seen it here.

Typical of LR not to know the market?

Is it worth a quick fax to LR in the UK or to Steve Morton (MD of LR Australia)?

Re reversing cameras, a good idea and a few blokes here have fitted them.

Ron (who'd like a cargo barrier for his RR)
