Good list, aftermarket will provide where LR dont, when you consider the improvements over current Defender with new one it will leave very little in need of modifying as per recent post.

For me, sliders, winch bar, roofrack, maybe 2 inch subframe spacers and 34s muddies, fridge, drawers, maybe snorkel?

It seemed ok to all for Defender to remain Defender through it's upgrades......which were many.

It isn't "hard".

By 'on-board air' , do you mean an air compressor? One wonders sometimes if manufacturers ever consider that the vehicles they build roll on tyres that constantly need air adjustments for the terrain and damage that they sustain ?

I think diagnostics could be easily available using the screens all models now have, plumb it in.....standard....it will probably improve LR's serviceability if drivers are informed of the vehicles condition.

I have never used a winch in over 40 yrs of off-roading....I think unnecessary but could be option for those who feel the need.

Decent jack is a must...surely its a tested fitting for offroad vehicles.....but I threw my D2 jack away and replaced it with much better item, and I threw my Ranger jack away and also replaced it.

Good mudflaps I agree with, they're also stone guards. LR have the best floormats...( if you don't have them get someone to buy you a set for your b'day, fathers/mothers day or any reason) ....they should fit the best mudflaps as well...as standard.

Agreed, especially with Air susp, onboard air should be standard. Then again they gota leave somethings for us to Mod or they would all be the same [emoji1417]

Yes. Not unimog portal axles. Just a nicely integrated compressor and a suitable socket and hose.

Even if they just effectively built in the equivalent of a GAP Tool, accessible via an app that they could charge money for that’d be fine by me. Putting some kind of a restriction on who can do potentially damaging things to the vehicle makes sense, but this is 2020 we’re talking about. ODB is well past its use-by date.

I’ve been driving for 25 years and never needed an airbag. I’m bloody glad to have them in my vehicles though, just in case.

A LandCruiser has been a LandCruiser since the first one was revealed, LandCruiser has legitimate heritage.

The DEFENDER name does not. The Defender came about AFTER the Discovery was introduced in 1989
Any Landrover before 1989 , even a 110 County is not a Defender.

The other dickhead move they made was to name Discoveries Series 1 , 2 , 3 etc .
Its a real pain looking up proper LandRover Series 1,2 or 3 parts & Discovery crap keeps getting referenced.

Anyway I have no vested interest in this as I'll never be buying another JLR product as they have diverged so far diff track from anything I'll ever be wanting or needing.
