They only make the Hybrid version as a tax dodge so they can drive through cities like London with their ULEV business. Hybrid is actually the most wasteful form of ICE vehicle combining the most comp[lex of both technologies. Definitely nothing to get excited about. Totally useless in the real world. Oh wait , Cities are the new 'real world' . Another con job for gullible people.

Several years ago whilst working on a project with AML in Gaydon there was a similar 'city car' they sold for the overall carbon credit that was essentially an upstandard honda they rebranded for around 80,000 gbp.

If it cuts exhaust emissions to improve the air quality in cities and reduces fuel consumption then that's a gain.

Yes indeed, way better commuter / city car than a diesel, but not a patch on 100% EV . but who would buy one of these as a commuter, ....well apart from posers,
as a 4WD the hybrid tech is basically a waste of technology / waste of space .

That “bar” is merely an ornament trying to say I am a bush adventurer!
It would cause more extensive damage in a roo strike than if it was not there at all.

The most disappointing thing about that photo are the huge air dams down low left and right.
Will essentially preclude ARB etc making a steel bar that is actually useful at protecting against animal strike.

Winch is good but access would be tight I reckon! Looks to be a Zeon, hopefully they made the cage big enough to swallow a full size winch? At least there is something structural to bolt too!

They really need to remove the bonnet camo - looks silly

Glad you find my posts funny. Won’t be retro...

50mm tubing is not ornamental by any means

The lower bumper will be fog lights, however above that remains to be seen and has been seen in smaller fashion previously.

From what i have seen LR are trolling big time on this reveal and for good reason. Die hards have their mind made up before anything was revealed.

Plenty of room in and around winch, especially compared to D5 concealed.

Oh come on, those bars are next to useless!!

They fold back and do more damage than not having one in a collision!
I know this as my Disco had a factory nudge bar, as that's all they are. It just folded back into the bonnet on a very low speed hit.
It's been replaced by a bull bar.

I lived for too many years in roo and wallaby central, the old Deefer plus the ex's Patrol had had more hits than Acca dacca!!

Agreed the front bar will be lighter-duty than what we expect here in Oz, but it's in keeping with the wants (and regs) of many markets... Call it a 'level 1' against a 'level 3' which would be an ARB/TJM/OL/etc.
Interesting that the big muffler, twin-outlet pictured is registered as a hybrid. I would have thought only the big-banger six would be set-up like that, but this may point towards a 'performance' hybrid where the electric assist is there to lift it to SVR levels rather than a better FE sticker number... or it could all be smoke and mirrors :P
Other than the pto winches in early days, publicly available electric winches on those other vehicles is news to me, cheers.

D3 and D4 discreet rings a bell now that you mention it, seen a few getting around. But always thought people had added after.

Not much comes up when I Google defender factory winch.

Anyone know out of the current lineup if you can actually tick winch in factory options? D5 I have seen commercially with winches fitted but as far as im aware everyone publically has added them in after??.

Only one I have seen is this journalists tests car.

Anyone ever ordered a winch from factory or know of someone that has?

There is two lines of thought with bullbars.

Some say they its easier and cheaper to repair the bumper than pay for a new bullbar

    D5 winch

I run a tube bar on my RRC, the usual kind every man and his dog runs these days.

I have wanted to modify or change to the K2 design and fab style for extra light/side protection(but like the compact and light nature of tube). The new defender bar reminds me of this.

Adding in brush bars would be super easy and give the top the strength it needs for serious work.

All in all, i would seriously consider ordering that. Great option until the usual players come to the party with something "better" which will come down to the old "beauty is in the eye of the beerholder"
