Give me a DPF only anyday,we have them in our work vans,some are over two yrs old never had an issue.
No worrying about filling up the add blue tank.
Or worrying about oil dilution and having to have a service done before it is supposed to be due.[tonguewink]
Yes i know some have had issues with DPF,but maybe thats only actually a small % of the number of vehicles that have them.
Two years!! That is a crazy long time.
A DPF is for particulates. All diesels have them. Ad Blue is for NOx. Completely different for different things.

The price of a reborn anything from LR is absurd. I know it exists in the UK but do you know for sure you can even buy them here (with warranty). The smart money for second hand vehicles is looking more and more like D2 if you are looking for cost effective all round performance with relative simplicity and better stock running gear than the current Defender.

They brought one out as a concept and it was pretty ugly and respected Land Rover Defender fans enough to go back to the drawing board completely and bring out something that no doubt most current defender owners that want more comfort and tourability will appreciate, and many others that would never buy a defender because it was too rough and unsafe will now get one. They are trying to make something that will keep most happy, but not all.
I'm still keen to see what they produce. In a lot of ways its exciting just from the standpoint of an LR tragic.
Now whether I would stump up my hard earned...very much another question and one that I expect I would be in a better position to answer in say 2023 after a few have been shaken down for a few years.

At the same time, what many dont want to see is a carbon copy D4 masquerading as the new Defender.
