LR rely on Traction Control electrickery and active control of height to overcome poor suspension geometry
Besides, short links hammer bushes (it spins my head that lower and upper arms are service items on IFS/IRS landies albeit because the bushes are so hammered they only last a few kays)
But that plays into the increased service costs of a luxo SUV!!!
Take a pole of 200 series owners as to how often they replace suspension bushes / components DURING the warranty period

I replaced my steering bushes at close to 300,000 in my D2 and lower ball joint bushes at the same time. All others are original. Welcome to the brave new world of IFS/IRS ownership...
Cheers
Hmm good points, there was some discussion recently here about the new defenders width, its already as wide as the LC200 and that's with pumped out guards/flares as far as you would want to go and 3 across front seat option. One thing I have noticed, is that whenever someone has snapped a spy pic underneath overnight, the axles are dead straight at whatever height that is.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2dec5eec09.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ccc28e5f94.jpg
Maybe some new RRVO, RRS, D5 owners can chime in and give us some feedback, all the bushes on subframes and links looks pretty hefty don't they?
I'd be surprised if people are changing them under 100k
Having said that if you have crossed the CSR or done a big lap I would be surprised if some bushes didn't need changinghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...46cd52ca5c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9e64bf14e3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...76f535b31a.jpg
Yes. The base design is poor for off road use and they use traction control to mask the bad design. Really it is not what should be a Defender.
As someone who carts around 4 kids that 130 wagon might be well worth a look. Biggest issue for me with most 4WD wagons is the lack of cargo space when the 3rd row of seats is in use.
Out there thought
Could that ugly as sin C pillar be hiding a third row suicide door?
Surely there has to be some function for something quite so incongruously ugly?

Regarding control arms
From my perusing of the D3/4RRS areas - seems they are a service item well below 100kkm
Maybe the LR2020 has learnt from that
Probably not - good little after purchase money spinner for the company to make a hunk of metal essentially single use because the bush is tricky to remove and replace
I like it, was thinking why they put it there and most likely it would look pretty weird without it considering position of the alpine window and the floating roof design.
It seems to tie that whole section together in my eyes and add some unique styling to differentiate from all the other same same 4x4s out there.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a133ad9da8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fb30537ecd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7c94eab0af.jpg
