Yeah, there is nothing in VSB14 that I can see that says you can’t drop a rim size - as long as the entire rim and tyre combination stays legal in size.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

I run an extremely modified landrover with 35s which is engineered in multiple states and insured, I am very familiar with what is legal and not.

Home star I know what you are saying but with insurers and the policy it’s about modifications (ie legality is only part, and not all of the insurance equation). The smart money is telling your insurer and having any mods (modification is usually widely defined in the policy terms) and noted on your policy in writing. Anything else is Russian Roulette. Don’t shoot the messenger I’m just trying to assist people who might not realise what a mine field it is.

    Cheers

Yeah think they just worry about excessive increases mainly and loss of safe handling.
Decreases generally mean less strain on components.

Blackrangie you are a treat mate Won’t be retro.... I’m all for mods and my insurer knows about mine, but it doesn’t matter how many photos you post up of modded vehicles, nor how many comments you make about what insurers would and wouldn’t know...it doesn’t make it so.

    Cheers

Sorry mate, I stand by my comments, please explain to me where I'm wrong(happy to be corrected, however I think you will find my comments are very similar to yours if you read them) and by treat, do you mean like a Kit Kat or more like a Mars Bar?

Very nice of you, but what we are trying to explain, is that in this case, in the context of this thread, it's a non issue legally and to get insured.

Excellent. Let me call you as my first witness when I am suing my insurer for not honouring my policy.

Again mate very dangerous ‘advice’. Anyone reading this thread will know, thankfully, that you are a non lawyer giving careless ‘legal’ advice. Mate it’s always good to know when to make observations and arguments but to know when to stop short of offering advice about which you can’t support with experience and training.

    Cheers
