When is death not premature? I'd like to know the cut off point. And is there an age when you are overdue?

I might want a room full of diesel smoke if I crumble my way past 100. Instead I will be surrounded by autonomous EVs that will refuse to run me over.
Hmm.. good questions but without wanting to go too far off topic I'll keep it very brief.

Stop what? Polluting the Earth to the point where it can't self heal.

When is death premature? When you see the daughter of a very good friend pass away of cancer at the age of 21. Just happened very very sad.

I hear what you're saying about old age, it's something that really annoys, especially me seeing my my pop pass away from Alzheimer's Won’t be retro...

Again I love my V8 but agree things need to be done, go to China and try and walk around without a face mask.. you can see why EVs are incentivised.

Good question but don't want to get too far off topic, briefly in order to answer that question I reccomend studying in depth at a microscopic level the cell and then DNA, then work out from there. The cell alone is far more impressive than Land Rovers new manufacturing plant in Slovakia and makes it look retro from a design and capability point of view.

Happy to discuss this with anyone maybe better over direct message though Won’t be retro...Won’t be retro...

You two guys need to get a room somewhere. You both raise good discussion points but the constant antagonistic tone between you is becoming annoying.

So much green washing in this thread. The new defender has been designed and built. Look out the window for some reference, not 5-10 years into the future.

It will sell in 2020 as a petrol/diesel, mild hybrid, no problem. Maybe they will follow up with all electric, or maybe in 5 years JLR will be bankrupt and the Defender no longer relevant. Let's not get carried away trying to project the future.

Please Land Rover release the blasted thing already!

The article linked to on the new motor explains that:

    1) "The new donk that uses a unique mash-up of an electric supercharger and twin-scroll turbocharger "
    2) "
the 48V MHEV system uses an integrated electric motor to harvest lost energy during deceleration and feeds it back into the engine"

    And hence only a "
    Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle"

I try to never be antagonistic, rude or offensive, its actually something I'm extremely conscious of for every post, but nobodys perfect, apologize if anything i have written comes across that way. Any time you think I cross the line, please shoot me a pm with a specific link to the post. Won’t be retro...

I haven't fully got my head around that yet, can that tech work with hybrid also, as in will hybrid have the regen functionality?

For those that havent been following this thread from the start, it has been reported that the defender will be on the new MLA architecture and that supports Mild, Hybrid, EV

"The MLA platform, on the other hand, will debut around 2020 and it is expected to underpin the all-new Defender. The platform has designed to accommodate an assortment of different powertrains including internal combustion engines, mild hybrid systems, plug-in hybrid systems and fully electric powertrains."
